Selection and Operation Procedures of Measuring Tools
Tool Preparation: An outside caliper is a common tool for measuring impeller diameter. Ensure the caliper's accuracy matches the impeller size. For large impellers, a micrometer can be used for auxiliary measurement.
Measurement Procedure: Place the caliper hook symmetrically on the outer edge of the impeller, adjust to a tight contact state, and then read the scale value. During measurement, keep the impeller stationary and the measurement point on the centerline.
Analysis and Application of Measurement Data
Wear Assessment: When the measurement results show that the impeller diameter has decreased by more than 10% of its original size, repair or replacement should be considered.
Performance Impact: Severely worn impellers will reduce pump efficiency and should be addressed promptly to avoid equipment damage.
Key Measures for Impeller Maintenance
Regular Cleaning: Removing deposits from the impeller surface maintains its operating efficiency.
Condition Inspection: Identify signs of wear or deformation through periodic inspections.
Lubrication Management: Ensure adequate bearing lubrication to reduce the risk of impeller wear.
Component Replacement: Replace aged impellers and other easily worn components promptly according to usage frequency.
